In Matthew 17:20-21, Jesus had just finished casting out a demon the the Disciples weren’t able to. When they asked him why they weren’t able to cast the demon out, Jesus basically responded that they need to start taking God seriously! He said that if they even had the faith of a stinkin’ poppy seed, they could move mountains! Then, he says, “There is NOTHING you wouldn’t be able to tackle.”
Imagine if we lived by that principle! Imagine if we had even a wee bit of faith, we could move mountains! This verse right here, is a call to action. It’s a call to stop making excuses, to quit whining, and to quit complaining that things are too hard. If you even have the faith of even a poppy seed, move the mountains! He’s telling us there’s nothing that we wouldn’t be able to accomplish or tackle if we just have faith. What are you waiting for? Start a’movin that stinkin’ mountain!
What are some instances where you had the faith or a poppy or mustard seed, and the Lord allowed you to move mountains?

Country Cuban
Ileana Ortiz (a.k.a. Country Cuban) is the Director of Online Communities at Flamingo Road Church, an intern at 8BIT, and a freshman at the University of West Florida. She is a Jesus lover, people lover, and a world changer. Her family has seriously impacted the way she lives her life. She gets her sense of humor and passion for helping others, from her mom. She gets her business sense and realistic expectations from her dad. She wishes she could match the game of her little sister, because her little sister has had more boyfriends in her 7 year life span, than Ileana has ever met, in her 18 years of living. She loves to think of herself as a comedian, and hopes that people are laughing with her, not at her. She is constantly being mistaken for celebrities such as Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz, Jessica Alba, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Angelina Jolie. She also happens to enjoy reading, writing, some good country music, all things tech, and when autumn rolls around.... a frothy Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks! I guess you could just say that she is your average 18 year old.. well.. not really.

POWERFUL!! I wonder why I, personally, don’t remember this more often. However, when I do remember, it’s like a “Beast being un-leashed into the wild”, and there ain’t no stopin That!
Appreciate your perspective and ABSOLUTE passion with this post (and your blog).

“people tell us that these big social problems are just that.. too big. our faith is for the big stuff. our faith is the substance for our hope. hope means believing in spite of the evidence and then watching the evidence change.
our faith is for the big stuff…”
this is something Jim Wallis said. i listened to him on the way to work this morning. it gave me chillls.. i’ve heard it before. but it was so reassuring at this time of my life. and now you posted this up.. and there’s a faith poster in the Touching Miami with Love where i’m working. God?
yes, i think so.
let’s tackle the big stuff. we can end societal ills. our faith tells us so
